Particularly relevant here are the <strong data-start=\"571\" data-end=\"598\">statutory minimum wage<\/strong>, possible <strong data-start=\"611\" data-end=\"645\">Industry-specific collective agreements<\/strong> and compliance with labor standards.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"693\" data-end=\"783\"><strong data-start=\"697\" data-end=\"783\">1. principle of equal treatment: no special rules for international employees<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"785\" data-end=\"1093\">Important for you as an employer:<br data-start=\"817\" data-end=\"820\" \/>The following apply to international employees <strong data-start=\"860\" data-end=\"886\">No special regulations<\/strong> with regard to remuneration, working hours or vacation entitlement. You may neither <strong data-start=\"967\" data-end=\"984\">disadvantaged<\/strong> still <strong data-start=\"990\" data-end=\"1003\">preferred<\/strong> The principle of equal treatment under German labor law applies without restriction.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"1100\" data-end=\"1135\"><strong data-start=\"1104\" data-end=\"1135\">2. statutory minimum wage<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1137\" data-end=\"1277\">The <strong data-start=\"1141\" data-end=\"1168\">statutory minimum wage<\/strong> applies <strong data-start=\"1174\" data-end=\"1200\">for all employees<\/strong>regardless of their origin, nationality or residence status.<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1279\" data-end=\"1502\">\n<li data-start=\"1279\" data-end=\"1387\">Since the <strong data-start=\"1290\" data-end=\"1308\">January 1, 2024<\/strong> the minimum wage is <strong data-start=\"1333\" data-end=\"1365\">12.41 euros gross per hour<\/strong> (as of March 2025).<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1388\" data-end=\"1502\">Also <strong data-start=\"1395\" data-end=\"1410\">Mini-jobber<\/strong>seasonal workers or employees in their probationary period are entitled to this minimum wage.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<blockquote data-start=\"1504\" data-end=\"1713\">\n<p data-start=\"1506\" data-end=\"1713\"><strong data-start=\"1506\" data-end=\"1518\">Important:<\/strong> The payment of a lower wage due to a lack of German language skills or deviating qualifications is <strong data-start=\"1629\" data-end=\"1647\">not permitted<\/strong>if the activity is comparable to that of other employees.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h3 data-start=\"1720\" data-end=\"1769\"><strong data-start=\"1724\" data-end=\"1769\">3. collective agreements and industry minimum wages<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1771\" data-end=\"1987\">In certain industries <strong data-start=\"1801\" data-end=\"1831\">Binding collective agreements<\/strong> with their own (often higher) minimum wages. These are mandatory for all employers - even those who are not bound by collective agreements.
