Our top priority is the well-being of our patients. That is why we attach great importance to the continuous support of scientific innovations. The range of therapeutic areas covered by AstraZeneca is extensive. In the research, development and commercialization of prescription medicines, our focus is on oncology, biopharmaceuticals (cardiovascular, renal and metabolic diseases, respiratory and immunological diseases as well as vaccines and immunotherapies) and rare diseases.

 

AstraZeneca GmbH is the German subsidiary of the British-Swedish pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca PLC. After around 61 years in Wedel, Schleswig-Holstein, we relocated our headquarters to the Hanseatic City of Hamburg in spring 2022.

Our parent company AstraZeneca PLC is headquartered in Cambridge, UK, and is one of the world's leading research-based pharmaceutical companies.

The goal of what we do? To develop life-changing and life-prolonging medicines for patients. With this in mind, around 1000 employees across Germany distribute our innovative medicines.

However, not only medical support, but also day-to-day support for patients and their families is very important to us. That is why we provide financial support to numerous patient organizations and self-help groups as well as charitable organizations. We are also an active sponsoring member of a number of medical associations. In addition, we are in constant professional contact with various universities and medical specialists who support us in our numerous projects, studies and the introduction of new medicines.
